Wednesday Devotions, 5:30PM
Each month of the year is dedicated to a particular devotion within the Catholic faith; the dedication of each month is based on historical events or a particular aspect of the liturgical calendar, or a combination of the two. These monthly Catholic devotions do not line up exactly with the time frame of the liturgical calendar, since they are fixed to standard calendar months rather than the Church seasons.
Each Month we pray a different kind of devotion. Each devotion generally takes about 15-20 minutes to pray. For example, October is the Month dedicated to the Holy Rosary so we prayed the rosary together that month. Please see the chart below for the Monthly schedule:
|January:||Litany of the Holy Name of Jesus|
|February:||The Holy Rosary|
|March:||Stations of the Cross|
|April:||Stations of the Cross (Lent), Easter Evening Prayer (Easter)|
|May:||The Holy Rosary|
|June :||Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus|
|July:||The Holy Rosary|
|August:||The Holy Rosary|
|September:||The Holy Rosary|
|October:||The Holy Rosary|
|November:||Chaplet of Divine Mercy|
|December:||Evening Prayer (Vespers)|
Adoration, Monday - Friday | After 12:10 Mass - 1:30
Eucharistic Adoration is an extension of the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament which occurs in every Mass. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament flows from the sacrifice of the Mass and serves to deepen our desire to be in close to Christ.
First Friday Adoration, 1:00PM - 5:00PM
On the First Friday of each Month, Adoration is from 1:00PM - 5:00PM
Lenten Stations of the Cross, Fridays 5:15PM
During the Season of Lent, Stations of the Cross are prayed at 5:15PM on Wednesdays and Fridays
Monthly Talks/Guided Reflections
Each month the Shrine organizes a talk, presentation, or a conversation of some kind. These monthly talks are an opportunity to learn something about the Catholic faith, or to openly discuss a topic with our community. Sometimes a presentation is made by an individual, other times the format is not so structured and becomes more of a discussion rather than a lecture. Some examples from the past would include topics like; Being Catholic in the Workplace, Franciscan Spirituality, an open Mic. Q&A with a Bishop, and presentations on various other topics. Upcoming monthly talks/reflections can be found in the events page for the Shrine.
