A Message from Fr. Bryan Parrish
Dear Shrine Community:
Please know that during these anxious times I, and all of us who serve here at Our Lady of Good Voyage Shrine, are spiritually close to you! As we continue to practice necessary social distancing, we need also practice spiritual solidarity, as brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. Through prayer, we remain close to one another as one Catholic family.
As you will note in the bulletin and on our website SeaportShrine.org, the Wednesday Rosary and Friday Stations of the Cross will be live streamed on Facebook and led by Father Paolo. He and I will also be posting a daily spiritual message on social media, as well as a Sunday homily on the appropriate Scripture readings. I invite you to pray regularly "An Act of Spiritual Communion" during this time we are asked to fast from receiving Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. Daily Mass is televised on CatholicTV.org. During these weeks, please continue any forms of personal or family prayer, as well as spiritual readings. I also recommend EWTN.org for some good spiritual resources. Above all, let us pray for all who have been impacted by the COVID-19 virus, including the sick, health care workers and those whose jobs have been affected.
Finally, during these anxious days, I encourage you to carry in your heart this verse from the Psalm 131 responsory: "In You O Lord, I have found my peace."
God bless you!
"In You O Lord, I have found my peace."
