Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley has appointed Very Rev. Bryan Parrish as Rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Voyage, effective July 1, 2019.
Fr. Parrish is a native of Canton MA. After completing his formation at St. John’s Seminary, Brighton, Fr. Parrish was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston on June 25, 1988. He served as Parochial Vicar at Saint Mary Parish, Quincy (1988-1994) and Saint Paul Parish, Wellesley (1994-2000), prior to his appointments as Pastor of Saint Mary Parish, Plymouth (2000-2007) and Holy Family Parish, Duxbury (2007-2010). Since 2010, Fr. Parrish has served in the administration of the Archdiocese of Boston in the positions of Special Assistant to the Vicar General and Assistant Vicar for Administration, Acting Vicar General, Secretary for Parish Life and Leadership and in his present position as Episcopal Vicar for Clergy, while serving on various Archdiocesan boards and committees. He resides at Sacred Heart Parish, Quincy.
I am grateful to the Cardinal for this opportunity to serve the Our Lady of Good Voyage Shrine community as your Rector. I was present at the groundbreaking of the Seaport Shrine and have enjoyed assisting monthly by celebrating Masses and hearing confessions since the Shrine opened. I look forward to building upon the good work and ministry of Fr. Flavin and working closely with the fine priests and staff who serve this community of faith.
-Father Bryan Parrish
